Nous sommes en 1886, Albert a quitté son emploi aux Douanes Chinoises mais il est de nouveau à Shanghaï.<br />Répondant à l'invitation d'un de ses anciens collègues des douanes, il entreprend un voyage vers Nankin.<br />Ses descriptions sont superbes : les plantes rencontrées, les temples visités, la fabrication des briques, la cuisson des choux, le tissage de la soie, le grenier à riz... tout comme l'histoire de cette grosse cloche de bronze abandonnée en plein champ et qui servait de maison à un mendiant.<br /><br />Un grand merci à Vincent (Desjonquères) pour sa transcription et ses notes en bas de page et fin de texte bien utiles.
